By August of 1988 the Shubert Organization had decided to dispose of the Blackstone Theatre, as it had already done with all its other Chicago theatres except the Shubert. Rev. Alumni of The Theatre School and Goodman School of Drama who have graced the stage of the Blackstone include Geraldine Page (GSD '45) in Separate Tables in 1958, Sweet Bird of Youth in 1960 and Clothes for a Summer Hotel in 1980.
